I have a question for you:

When it comes to marketing your business, are you doing what you love or are you doing what you feel like you're supposed to be doing?

For longer than I'd like to admit, I flailed about trying to get my coaching business up and running, and a big reason for that was, I was so focused on what I thought I was supposed to be doing, that I forgot to do what I actually enjoyed.

I was worried about keeping my business messaging super generic so that I appealed to every type of business owner. I stressed myself out about writing the types of blogs that I thought I was supposed to be writing instead of what I actually felt strongly about. I forced myself to spend time on every social media site, even if I didn't have any actual interest in a particular network.

I believe strongly that that with anything in life, if you do something you're passionate about, the results will always be better, as opposed to when you're just going through the motions.

The truth is that I'm incredibly passionate about helping lady business owners that have taken their gifts and talents and turned them into a business, learn how to market effectively. Once I got honest with myself and finally owned that, everything shifted and that's when the results came.  

Because you're reading this, I know you're a passionate female entrepreneur who started her business because you love what you do, whether that's health coaching or photography. You started your business because you didn't want to have to answer to anyone else and run someone else's business in a way you didn't enjoy. So why should you run yours in a way you don't?

Please, if you hate Twitter, stop stressing about Twitter. If you feel like you don't get your message across by writing blogs and email newsletters, try video blogs or a podcast. If you only want to work with a certain type of person, don't be afraid to own that and market to them and them only.

This week, I encourage you to take some time to think about the aspects of your business that excite you the most and then start to get the wheels in motion to begin doing more of that.
